Pride at UTD is going to begin starting work on Fundraising events for the current semester! We are needing people to volunteer their time in order to provide baked goods, or to work at the Fundraising booth that we would have in the Student Union. If you would like to be interested in either activities, please contact me, Peter Wonica at
fundraising@prideatutd.org with the activitiy that you would be interested in.
We will need people to:
Run the Fundraising Booth - We will have the fundraising event most likely from 10AM to 3PM (give or take an hour) so if you're not doing anything during that general time period on any weekday (other than Friday, which is often a low-traffic day), you're able to volunteer! Running the booth is a simple activity with certain responsiblities:
- Be able to sell the baked goods and encourage people to purchase the goods.
- Be able to keep track of sales and money collected.
- Maintain the booth and money collected in a responsible, tidy manner.
Providing the Booth with Goods - People will be needed in order to provide a rotating supply of baked goods. I am hoping to keep each bake sale unique by providing a different variety of goods each week, so anybody with cooking or baking experience should definately volunteer to provide a baked good to sell. If you would like to add your baked goods to the bake sale, before you do, please bring a sample to a PRIDE at UTD for approval by the officers. Those providing the sale with goods have ceratin responsibilities:
- Be able to prepare and bake their goods in a clean and hyginic manner.
- Be able to present the goods in an appealing manner and wrap them for purchase.
- Be considerate of allergies (milk, nut, gluten, etc) and make allergens known.
